Prof. Dr. Mahmudul Hassan is a distinguished ENT specialist currently serving as the Director and Chief Consultant, SAHIC & SENTH, Mohakhali, Dhaka, since February 2025. With over four decades of clinical experience, he is widely recognized for his expertise in otology, rhinology, laryngology, skull base surgery, head and neck surgery, and sleep sinus disorders.
He obtained his MBBS from Chittagong Medical College Hospital in 1983 and earned his Fellowship (FCPS) in Otolaryngology from the Bangladesh College of Physicians and Surgeons (BCPS) in 1994.
Dr. Hassan began his medical career as an Assistant Registrar at IPGMR (now BSMMU) from 1990 to 1994. He subsequently held key positions at several prestigious medical institutions including:
- Chittagong Medical College Hospital as Registrar (1994-95)
- Sir Salimullah Medical College Hospital as Resident Surgeon (1995–1998)
- Sir Solimullah Medical College Hospital as Assistant. Professor. (1998-2003).
- Rajshahi Medical College as Associate Professor (2003–2004)
- Begum Khaleda Zia Medical College Hospital as Associate Professor (2004–2011)
- Shaheed Suhrawardy Medical College Hospital as Professor (2011–2015)
- National Institute of ENT, Tejgaon, Dhaka as Director and Professor (2015–2018)
In 2018, he retired as the Director and Professor of ENT at the National Institute of ENT, Tejgaon, Dhaka. Following his retirement from government service, he served as Director cum Senior Consultant at SAHIC & SENTH from 2019 to 2021.
In February 2025, he rejoined the Society for Assistance to Hearing Impaired Children (SAHIC) in his current leadership role.
He has many publications in international and local journals on various topics in otolaryngology (ORL) and head & neck surgery (HNS).
Prof. Dr. Hassan has received extensive specialized training in advanced ENT procedures, including international training programs in the USA, UK, Germany, France, Switzerland, Poland, Australia, Singapore, and India. His contributions to the field have made a significant impact on ENT education, clinical practice, and surgical innovation in Bangladesh.
